Types of Editing I Offer
Most of my clients hire me for copyediting, which means I review their manuscript’s syntax, consistency, and accuracy, in addition to checking its grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Copyediting needs can range from light to heavy.
I also provide line editing, which, among other things, eliminates jargon, redundancies, and passive voice. It ensures that a manuscript is fluid and the author’s intended meaning is conveyed clearly.
When doing developmental editing, I look at a work’s overall structure, organization, and flow. I identify any areas that need to be developed further, moved, or omitted in order to improve the manuscript as a whole.
I also offer proofreading: a final check for typos, extra spaces, formatting issues, and more prior to a manuscript being published.
